4th Annual Commonwealth Computational Summit (CCS) October 12-16, 2020

The University of Kentucky’s Center for Computational Sciences (CCS) is hosting the 4th Annual Commonwealth Computational Summit (CCS) Via Zoom (a virtual Summit) the week of October 12-16, 2020.  In order to minimize Zoom fatigue, the Summit will last only 3 hours per day (1:30 pm to 4:30 pm Eastern). 

If you are interested in topics such as AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, HPC, Big Data, Data Mining, Informatics/Bioinformatics, Complex Modeling and Simulation, Cloud Computing or new Future Technologies then come join us for the Virtual Commonwealth Computational Summit!  This event is open to all university faculty and graduate students across the Commonwealth (and our region) as well as to industry participants interested in computational engineering, science, data analytics, and future technologies. The Summit’s agenda includes keynote speakers from academia, industry and the government, technical talks from faculty and industry, special sessions on OpenStack and the Kentucky Cyberteam, and a poster competition for graduate students (with prizes)!  And it is FREE!

Call for Speakers (Lightning Talks)

Are you doing exciting research in one of the following Summit topic areas:

1.     High-Performance Computing, Modeling and Simulations, Computational Science and Engineering

2.     Data Science, Big Data Analytics, Textual Analytics, and Data Mining

3.     Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and New Technologies

We are looking for faculty to give 10-minute lightning talks to inform others about your research, explore challenges, and build research collaborative interests across our regional institutions. Please register and submit a title and abstract for your lightning talk at https://summit.ccs.uky.edu/ .

Call for Posters

Are you a Masters or PhD student in the Commonwealth of Kentucky (or in our region) doing research related to our Summit’s topic areas:  HPC, Modeling and Simulation, Computational Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Mining, AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning or related new technologies?  Would you like to present a poster at our Summit, expand your resume/vita and win prices including a paid registration for the National Supercomputing Conference in November?  If so, please register and submit a title and abstract for your poster at: https://summit.ccs.uky.edu/ .

Deadline for poster competition submission: Friday, October 2, 2020
Deadline for speaker (lightning talks) abstract submission: Wednesday, September 30, 2020
Poster acceptance notification: Wednesday, October 7, 2020
Speaker selection notification: Monday, October 5, 2020
Summit Begins: Monday, October 12, 2020, 1:30 pm Eastern
