5th Annual Commonwealth Computational Summit (CCS)

VIRTUAL – April 12 & 13, 2022 from 10am until 3pm (EASTERN)


ANNOUNCEMENTCALL FOR SPEAKERS, AND REGISTRATION!

The University of Kentucky’s Center for Computational Sciences (CCS) and ITS-RCI is hosting the 5th Annual Commonwealth Computational Summit (CCS) Via Zoom (a virtual Summit) on Tuesday April 12 and Wednesday April 13, 2022. In order to minimize Zoom fatigue, the Summit will last only 4 hours per day (10am until 3pm Eastern with a 1 hour lunch break). 

Our focus for this Summit is Data Science which is a very broad topic and includes AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data, Data Mining, Informatics/Bioinformatics and other forms of data analytics and relevant technologies across all disciplines, application areas and industries!    This event is open to all university faculty and graduate students across the Commonwealth (and our region) as well as to industry participants interested in data science, data analytics and future enabling technologies. The Summit’s agenda includes keynote speakers from academia and industry, lightning talks from faculty, a panel on data science, and multiple technical talks, demos and mini-workshops from industry and national lab partners.  And it is FREE! Call for Speakers (Faculty Lightning Talks)

Are you doing exciting research or educational programs in Data Science? 

We are looking for faculty to give <10 minute lightning talks to inform others about your research or educational program related to data science in order to explore collaborative interests and share information across our regional institutions.  If you have interest in presenting, please send your name, title of the talk, mini-abstract and mini-bio to Tony Elam (tony.elam@uky.edu) no later than close of business March 14. Following your submission, you will be contacted regarding any further needed details and speaking session selection results.  Remember we are interested in research AND educational programs related to Data Science.

Call for Posters

We are not hosting a poster session during this Virtual Summit.  However, we plan to host a LIVE Summit event in October, 2022 that will include a student poster competition so stay tuned for that Fall event.

Deadline for Industry Tech Talks Submissions: Friday, March 4, 2022
Deadline for speaker (lightning talks) abstract submission: Friday, March 14, 2022
